  • 🐦 ZK in the Twitterverse

  • 💻 Opportunities to build the future of privacy

📰 ZK in the news

  • 📕 Scroll’s mainnet is live. On October 17, after over a year of testing, Scroll launched its zkEVM mainnet.

  • 📗 ZkLend launches on Starknet. The private money market ZkLend launched on Starknet on October 19. The alpha mainnet launch enables users to deposit assets and borrow tokens.

  • 📘 Thought experiment: what did Satoshi think of zero knowledge? Digging into the annals of crypto history reveals a conversation between Satoshi and a Bitcoin community member about zero knowledge. The topic was “interesting” to Satoshi, presuming the double spend topic could be surmounted.

  • 📙 Starknet and zkSync see dev growth. Despite a decline in monthly active crypto devs, ZK networks are standing out with dev growth compared to “mainstream” platforms like Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana.

  • 🖥️ Nocturne Labs announces $6MM seed, with Vitalik among investors. Nocturne Labs seeks to bring anonymous transactions to Ethereum and announced their intentions to launch on mainnet within the year. Vitalik Buterin, Bain Capital Crypto, and Polychain Capital are among Nocturne’s seed round investors.

zPass & private credentials

On October 23, Aleo announced zPass, a privacy-preserving credential system. zPass allows users to access online applications anonymously and submit required personal details without revealing sensitive information or documentation. Built on the Aleo blockchain, zPass ensures that personal data remains in safe hands, enables compliance for devs using zPass, and delivers a user-friendly experience with privacy technology.
