š The Story
The idea of a hardware-based ZK competition was first conceived at ETHDenver in 2022 by a group of expert technologists and cryptographers led by Aleo CEO, Alex Pruden. This year, we returned to the mountains to celebrate the success of the inaugural ZPrize competition and map out how weāll continue to move ZK technology forward together as an industry-wide effort.
ZPrize: The Future is Private was a half-day summit held at ETHDenver, dedicated to convening the competitionās winners, architects, sponsors, and participants.
Here are a few of the highlights:

The Breaking Barriers in Hardware panel featured ZPrize competition sponsors Hamid Reza Salehi (center) from AMD and Raymond Liao from Samsung Next (left). They discussed the hardware landscape for zero-knowledge proofs, the importance of hardware acceleration, and the role of hardware in web3 at large. The conversation was moderated by Maggie Love from W3bCloud.

Jiannan Ouyang from Snarkify and Boyuan Feng from Manta Network spoke to moderator Luke Pearson from Polychain Capital about their respective efforts accelerating multi-scalar multiplication (MSM) in web browsers. They touched on Snarkifyās grant with the Mina Foundation to improve zero-knowledge proof generation for their browser client, and Manta Networkās perspective on the importance of strong WASM implementation to meet end usersā needs.

There was educational content for all (zero) knowledge levels throughout the afternoon. @serdave_eth took home first place during ZK Technology Trivia, landing a coveted ZPrize hoodie!
Last but certainly not least, thank you again to all ZPrize competitors, architects, and sponsors - particularly AMD for sponsoring the eveningās reception following ZPrize: The Future is Private.

Where to next? ZPrize is becoming a DAO, with the same competition and mission - now operated by the community.
As a DAO, weāll scale ZPrize beyond its current form, making it a self-sustaining destination for the coordination of capital, education, and culture in the ZK space. The future of ZPrize will be defined by its members, which ensures it can continuously evolve to deliver maximum impact to the wider ZK community.
Join the ZPrize Pioneer community to get involved in the initial creation of the DAO, set the organizationās future direction, oversee future ZPrize competitions, and much more.
