ZPrize announces $7M prize pool for teams who deliver groundbreaking ZK proof algorithms and techniques. All submissions must be open-source, for the benefit of the world.

Alpen Labs Alpen Labs receives $10.6M to scale Bitcoin using ZK tech. The project is focused on enhancing privacy via ZK proofs while developing a novel Bitcoin rollup infrastructure.

a16z releases Jolt, a zkVM that helps blockchain projects reduce fees, increase speeds, and preserve transaction privacy. According to a16z, Jolt is 10x faster than RISC Zero.

Aligned Layer closes its $2.6M seed round to build the first decentralized ZK proof verification layer for Ethereum. The EigenLayer AVS’ mainnet launch is scheduled for Q2 2024.
